My son went to court on a sales and possession with intent to distribute charge.. His lawyer and the prosecutor discussed a deal of 6 years in jail.The prosecutor made a phone call to the head of the drug unit who said he wanted 10 years. i was under the impression the court was in charge of sentencing not the drug unit. Who is in control.. the drug units or the courts. The is also a history with my son and the arresting officer's wife.. before they were married. Anyone with thoughts or advice?
